Portland Diary - Day 1

It's been two days since I've been home from Portland and I've been itching to get to a computer and share my adventures with you all in one post, but that would be a novel so heres to Day 1! Abby and I had the opportunity to celebrate her 21st birthday in Oregon for a week which was one of the best weeks of my life. This was the first time we got to travel alone and adventure in a city we've never been.

Our good friend Jaysen recently moved to Portland and he curated a list of places to take us throughout the city and our first stop was Case Study.

This coffee shop is located on the corner of SW Yamhill and 10th. I had my usual latte and tried their lemon poppy seed cake. This was our frequent spot where we would usually end our days in downtown before we took our train back home (Society Hotel).

The first shop we went to was called Boys Fort. I was too excited to take any pictures because the store was just plain awesome. It had outdoorsy but playful gear for grown ups. I even feel like I'm not doing it justice with this lame description. They had leather goods, vintage items, a succulent shop called Solabee, ceramics, and shoe forms that I happily purchased for $8. It took us awhile to get used to items not having tax lol.

After brunch at Tasty N' Alder (a crowded but yummy spot) we stumbled upon this cute shop called WM Goods. They had a lovely minimalistic collection of clothing, home decor, accessories, beauty products, paper goods, and even Compartes chocolate from Los Angeles. Also a little french bulldog to welcome you into the store!

Little did I know Portland was filled with lovely shops like this one on every street!
